Hi, I’m Dorsey Standish.

I’m a mindfulness & meditation expert and a nerd when it comes to brain health. My mission is to help Type A people like me slow down, destress, and optimize their performance through mindfulness meditation.

A mechanical engineer turned neuroscience & mindfulness speaker, I spend my happiest days inspiring others to access the full power of their minds through a daily mindfulness practice.

Speaking & Teaching

I bring research-backed mindfulness and mindful movement to clients nationwide.

I have shared science-based mindfulness solutions with hundreds of companies, including Staples, Pier 1, Deloitte, United Way, Peloton, and Lockheed Martin. I specialize in brain health-based mindfulness training for corporations, professional societies, and educators.

Healthy brain, healthy life.

Here’s what I wish I had known when a 2015 mental health crisis forced me to step back from a management role at Texas Instruments…

Our brains can change!

The concept of “neuroplasticity” explains that our brains are not fixed entities. Instead, we literally shape our brain every day through our lifestyle, our stress levels, our health choices, and our engagement in cognitive training like mindfulness.

Mindfulness meditation has been shown to improve mental health by mitigating stress, anxiety, and depression while also equipping you to better handle future stressors.

Mindfulness practice has even been proven to change the structure of your brain — a recent study found that just 8 weeks of daily mindful meditation practice increased gray matter in the areas of the brain associated with executive functioning and memory (the prefrontal cortex and the hippocampus) and reduced gray matter in the fear and rage center of the brain responsible for the fight or flight response (the amygdala).

In short, mindfulness supports your brain health. We can reshape our brains with mindfulness training and healthy habits.

"Dorsey - thank you for planning and leading such an amazing workshop. I'm so grateful to see the immediate impact on myself and the shift in my team. You're inspiring. Thank you!"
